Required Training
There exist three different pathological training paths, all of which are 5 years long: Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and combined Clinical and Anatomical Pathology.
 
Additional Qualifications and Subspecialties
Additional qualification is possible in Cytopathology.  Subspecialization is available in either Clinical or Anatomic pathology.  Subspecialties in Clinical pathology include: blood banking/transfusion medicine, chemical pathology, hematology, and medical microbiology.  Subspecialties available in Anatomic pathology include: forensic pathology, neuropathology, hematology, immunopathology and cytopathology.
