Opportunities-4 Week Clerkship (Med Students) |
Aerospace
Medicine Clerkships-The
four week clerkship in Aerospace Medicine is offered semiannually during the
months of April and October at the Johnson Space Center (JSC). The clerkship
involves formal lectures on space medicine topics, exposure to human testing
operations, and familiarization with the medical aspects of Space Shuttle
operations and Space Station design and function. The clerkship also
involves a research project in a current area of space medicine focus in
which the student has interest. A written research report and presentation
are required. |

Great
Opportunities-Yearl Long Fellowship (Med Students) |
|
fellowship provides medical students with an applied hands-on training
experience in epidemiology and public health. Eight competitively selected
third- and fourth-year medical students from around the country will spend
up to one full year at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
in Atlanta, Georgia. While at CDC, they will participate in an orientation
to CDC, applied epidemiology, the national public health system, and the
role of physicians in that system. With the guidance of experienced CDC
epidemiologists, they will perform epidemiologic analyses and research,
design public health interventions, and assist in field investigations. |
