Required Training
4 years total of training after receiving the M.D., consisting of the first year in either broad-based clinical training, or a residency in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Family Practice, Pediatrics or OB/GYN. The following three years consist of training in Dermatology. Recertification is required every 10 years.
Board Certified Fellowships & Qualifications/Certificates
Special qualification is possible in Dermatopathology after being certified in Dermatology and Pathology or both and then completing a year in Dermatopathology.
A 1 year Subspecialty training in Clinical and Laboratory Dermatological Immunology (CLDI) is possible after completion of a Dermatology residency.
