"Helping others has always been my passion, whether a patient in a trauma situation, or a student whose dream of becoming a doctor appears too far out of reach." A. Jimenez
As a high school student himself he would tutor younger students, which continued through medical school and today. Based on his own experience, and feedback collected from the board of directors and other peers, Andres wrote a very successful premed guide book, "Getting into today's highly competitive US medical schools". This book is now in its second print edition.
Dr. Jimenez's desire to help even more people led to his previous position as Clinical Director of Content and Online Training with Allscripts (MDRX), maker of the Touchworks Electronic medical record system that helps doctors take care of over 5 million patients a year. As clinical director of content, Dr. Jimenez oversaw development of the most critical component of the application, the note documentation component.
"Before when I was primarily in the hospital I was touching patients one at a time, now I play a lead role in touching patients millions at a time!" A. Jimenez
Now as President of studentsofmedicine.com, Dr. Jimenez's goal is to expand the reach of the program to more premed students in the US and abroad.
Dr. Jimenez resides in Southern California with his wife Wendy.
