Over
12 weeks, this course will introduce the learner to fundamental topics in
medicine, similar to those encountered during the first two years of medical
school. Just as importantly, we help you to improve your learning skills,
build a C.V., and create a personal statement, that will be a very important
part of your future medical school application.
Weekly LIVE lectures are performed by an
academic medical physician (M.D.)!
Basic Science Topics include:

- Cardiac Physiology

- Gastro-Intestinal Physiology
- Biochemistry

- Alcohol, other Drugs
Bonus Guest Lecture:
"The Med School Prep", by Andres Jimenez, M.D., author of the
book, "Getting into today's highly competitive US medical school", and
creator of the studentsomedicine.com website. In this lecture Dr.
Jimenez will prep you on everything you need to know about preparing to get
into medical school!
This course will proceed in a weekly format,
including weekly LIVE lectures by a physician educator, and follows a Social
Constructivism Pedagogy for online learning.
In addition to instruction in the above topics, this course will prepare the
premed learner to create a Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), and a personal statement
used for entrance into medical school. The earlier the premed student knows
how to create these, the better prepared they will be to add items that will
increase their shot at getting into medical school one day. |
